Advising and Guidance

Guidance is considered one of Empire College’s most important services. Vocational and personal guidance begins at the moment a prospective student indicates an interest in Empire College and continues throughout and beyond the term of education. Our goal is to support our students and assist them in reducing any obstacles that might interfere with their studies.

Vocational Guidance: Our Admissions office offers vocational guidance to help students set career goals and select the most suitable educational programs. The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam is used to evaluate applicants’ ability to successfully complete Empire’s instructional programs.

Educational Advising: The Director of Education, Evening School Dean, and Student Success Advisors are available to assist students with academic advising. Any student having difficulty with a particular class or scheduling should contact the Education department.

Instructional Assistance: Instructors are available during school hours to assist students in making arrangements for special help. Students needing an instructor’s help should meet with the instructor, the department head or the Education department to discuss their individual needs.

Tutoring: An on-campus tutoring center is available to all students at no additional charge. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 to 8:50 a.m. and  2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Some programs provide additional tutoring if a student tutor is available.

Study Groups: Empire College fosters study groups in several classes. The purpose of the groups is to provide student interaction and teamwork, as well as build leadership qualities and reliance on the group to solve problems and generate ideas.

Job Placement: Empire’s Career Services Department works with all graduates to prepare them for the competitive workplace. Our placement services are based on employer relationships built over 50 years, and graduates may use this placement assistance as often as needed. Resume and portfolio preparation and interview techniques are directly addressed in all basic class work, as well as by the Career Services Department staff who provide ongoing support and coaching during graduates’ job search.

Angela Emerick, Esq.

(Class of 2015)

"Being born in Australia and becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2009, I understand the process and honor of becoming an American citizen and am proud to help those in their quest to become citizens and better their lives."

Daryl Reese, Esq.

(Class of 2014)

"I decided to enroll in Law School when I was 50 years old having enjoyed a full career in the nonprofit sector. Now I have a robust business and nonprofit law practice serving clients throughout the State of California and I am loving it. I could never have made that kind of career transition if it had not been for Empire Law School. The opportunity to take evening courses and at a cost far less than other law schools, and to do so in my own community made my career shift affordable, enjoyable, and attainable."

Orchid Vaghti, Esq.

(Class of 2010)

"There are not that many new lawyers who have the experience to go to trial. They would not be ready for it. Seeing the practical points of the legal process through her Empire education gave Orchid an advantage."
