Brian Barboza practices bankruptcy law as a solo practitioner in Santa Rosa. He previously worked with the Sonoma County Probation Department as a Probation Officer while attending Empire Law School and Sonoma State University (Criminal Justice Administration). Mr. Barboza graduated from law school in 2007, began practicing in 2008, and has successfully represented hundreds of people through their difficult legal issues. In addition to bankruptcy law,

Mr. Barboza practices in the area of Social Security disability. Mr. Barboza currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Bar Association as well as serving as the Chair of the SCBA’s Bankruptcy Section.

Melissa Coughlin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Empire College School of Law in 2008. Her undergraduate degree from University of California at Davis is in Agricultural Economics. She had various careers in the farming, wine, employment recruiting, employee benefits and real estate industries. In each of those careers, the legal aspects were always of special interest.

In 2004, Ms. Coughlin had an epiphany that what she was meant to do was become a lawyer. While at Empire, she joined the Law Office of the Public Defender as a law clerk. After passing the Bar Exam, she was hired as an attorney, defending indigent clients charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses.
